Generation rules
- Easy uses values from 1 to 10; medium uses 5 to 50; hard uses 10 to 200.
- The larger value is placed first, so answers are never negative.
- Duplicate expressions are avoided when the selected range permits.

Common questions
Are negative answers included?
No. Generated problems keep the first value at least as large as the second.
How can regrouping errors be reduced?
Ask learners to mark each renamed place value before subtracting.
What is a useful check?
Add the difference to the smaller number; it should equal the starting number.
